Every department is a bundle of tasks.
AI won't replace "real estate." It will replace specific tasks inside every department, and give the people who learn to use it far more leverage. Here's how I see it playing out across a real estate firm, following a property from the first market study through the life of the asset.

How I decide what AI will replace
Every task on these pages is tagged with the question it answers "yes" to. If a task is any of the following, AI will likely do it. It's the same test from my answer to "Is AI going to take my job?"
- Rules-basedIs the task deterministic, with a repeatable, rules-based output?
- Pattern recognitionDoes it rely on spotting trends, anomalies, or categorizing inputs?
- Text workIs it mainly summarizing, rewriting, translating, or extracting text?
- Data entry & cleanupIs it data entry, cleaning, or turning structured inputs into structured outputs?
- Standard documentsDoes it produce standard documents like reports, memos, or templates?
- Predictable questionsIs it answering questions that come up again and again?
- MonitoringIs it tracking and flagging metrics, dates, or workflows?
- Scheduling & routingIs it scheduling, coordinating, or routing work to the right place?
